Israeli Capitalism is falling deeper into crisis, leading to increasing despair for working people. None of the main political parties has a solution, because they are all part of the problem - they support the Free Market economy, and are the puppets of big business. Capitalism offers working people no future, but increasing unemployment, poverty and war.

Every day the workers, the unemployed, the pensioners and the youth are being attacked by the capitalists. Life becomes tougher from day to day. The world becomes more dangerous, poorer and hungrier, as a result of the capitalism craziness.

'Maavak Socyalisti' builds a socialist alternative in Israel. We are working to spread the ideas of socialism and workers solidarity, and build them into a force that can change society.

The 'Maavak Socyalisti' movement offers the workers, the unemployed, the pensioners and the youth, the way to protect their rights. However, more important than that, we present a clear way to found a new social organization form where the vast potential of all of human beings along with Earth resources will put an end to the redundant poverty and suffering that Capitalism causes.

'Maavak Socyalisti' is the Israeli section of the CWI, an international Socialist movement, which fights in over 35 countries worldwide to protect workers' rights and against the rule of the multinationals.

Our Demands

• A minimum wage of 5000 NIS for all, with no exceptions — including students, young people and foreign workers.
• A guaranteed job or training placement for all, with at least the minimum wage.
• For a shortening of the work-week, without damaging the working conditions - in order to supply jobs for the unemployed.
• Scrap all manpower agencies — direct employment with the right to collective bargaining in every workplace.
• Massive investment in public housing, to provide quality and affordable accommodation for all.
• Massive investment in public transport, to increase bus routes, expand the railway system, and provide cheap fares.
• Massive investment in health and education, which should be free.
• A state pension of at least 5000 NIS per month for all workers, so that all pensioners can enjoy a decent standard of living.
• Oppose all attempts to divide workers and discriminate against them on the basis of nationality, political opinion, language, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation or physical or mental disability. Fight all attempts to repress individuals or groups on the basis of nationality, culture or ideology (excluding groups, such as racists, who aim to harm other individuals). For a united workers struggle.
• For the right to religious worship, and the rights of the secular majority to freedom from religious coercion.
• An average worker's wage for workers’ representatives (MKs, council members, workers committee leaders, TU leaders). Fight corruption in politics.
• Scrap all privatization plans. Take the banks and conglomerates out of the hands of the handful of a few wealthy families and foreign concerns that own them, and place them under public ownership, under democratic workers’ control and management. The enormous wealth-producing potential of these industries could then be used to provide for the needs of working people, instead of for the profits of the fat few.
• Oppose illusory peace deals between corrupt leaders, Israeli and Arab. The Oslo accords are not a real peace between peoples, but an agreement to allow businessmen (Israeli, Arab and international) to get rich on the sweat of Israeli and Palestinian workers. Such deals, incapable of ending poverty and repression, will never provide long-lasting peace and security. To unite in order to defy the bosses attempts to divide us on the basis of nationalism and racial hatred. For a united struggle to overthrow the Capitalist system which creates poverty.
• Oppose the occupation and the repression of the Palestinian masses - Get the army out the Territories. For an Independent Socialist Palestine alongside a Socialist Israel, as part of a future socialist confederation of the middle-east.
• For the building of a mass democratic workers party with a socialist program, to unite and lead workers struggles, and loyally fight for their rights.
• For the establishment of a socialist society run democratically to provide for the needs of the working people, and not for the profits of the few.
